Gerry Skene at Ecofest

We are lucky to have Gerry Skene coming along to form part of our program for children at ecofest.

Gerry Skene is an all singing, guitar, harmonica and mandolin playing horticulturlist and educator. He wrote and produced his cd,  ‘Green Concrete’, with the aim of inspiring kids using up-beat, fun and humourous music containing real environmental educational messages.

He says, “We are the custodians of this planet and we can make a difference. We must continue to sow and nurture the seeds of renewable sustainability. I believe my music is a gift that I can use to inspire young people to plant and nurture those precious seeds.”

ecofest?

the name and logo of what will be a great event!

Come Saturday  October 9th this year (2010) we will be in the midst of a festival day which will be focussed on all things ‘green’.

We are a group of people who are part of Western Heights Uniting Church in Geelong who are keen to see a culture grow where people are committed to a sustainable future.

So… we are working towards putting on an Eco-festival

This one day event will include family activities, discussion forums, a ‘green’ market, food, movies and other brilliant ‘things’ – (that we are yet to discover we are doing.)

We look forward to seeing you there.

In the meantime we will use this blog to  keep you all updated on how it’s progressing – and would love feedback into what it is that people want to see at the ecofest (nice feedback!)
