This will be in the middle of the market space inside – with a small play room where your toddlers might be able to have a bit of a crawl while you feed.
For bigger kids there are some activities to get involved in – head out the back to the fenced in playground to see what you can get up to.
We’re really pleased to announce that Festival favourites The Evening Cast will be playing a lunchtime set at ecofest.
Come along between 12:30 and 1:30 to listen to The Evening Cast play their upbeat lilting pop masterpieces with boy/girl harmonies while you chow down on your Kangaroo sausage or Vegie burger with freshly squeezed O.J.
Inside at 11am on Saturday the 5th Derek Ryan will be leading this session on bee keeping. To help you get your head around the idea of keeping bees he will take you through some of the following;
1/ What are the regulations regarding backyard beekeeping.
2/ What is the minimum equipment needed to get started
Indulge your senses while having peace of mind. Buy a scrumptious cup cake or biscuit and pair it with a refreshing cup of tea or coffee from Cakes by Cathy, made with local and fair trade products bringing hope to developing communities.

Looking for an alternative to supermarket disposable nappies?
Linda from Booloo Babe will be on hand at Ecofest to answer all your cloth nappy needs!
She will have a range of modern cloth nappies and accessories (wet bags, cloth wipes), breast pads made from bamboo and some handmade baby boys onesies.
You can have a bit of a look at the Booloo Babe website and come visit Linda at Ecofest.
Do you have lemons rotting on the ground in your back yard?
Do you have more zucchinis than you can give away?
Are your chooks laying more eggs than you can eat?
Do you need help harvesting your otherwise wasted fruit?
Would you like an opportunity to discuss your successes (and failures!) with other gardeners in the
community?
Then come along to our fruit, veg and home-grown produce swap!
On Saturday 5th of November at Ecofest – This will be a joint food swap with the Manifold Heights Community Garden Food Swap. (- Thanks for that!) and will take place from 9am – 12noon.
Why?
The aim is to encourage sustainable gardening in the community and provide access to fresh local seasonal
produce.
How?
The swap operates on an honesty system: bring what you want, take what you feel is a fair exchange.
What?
You can bring home-grown fruit and veg, home-made preserves and cordials, home-baked cakes or bread,
eggs from your chooks, surplus seeds and seedlings, dried or potted herbs.
Any unused food is passed on to local charities for distribution.
There are a number of food swaps operating locally – ask at this one to find out more and checkout Food Skil
The Food Swap at Ecofest will be organised by Katie – who a number of you will know from other food swaps, community gardening and vegie garden workshops.
thanks Katie.
Look forward to seeing everyone with their fresh produce on the day.
